My Look: Dress | Purse | Shoes | Sunnies
Hi Friends!
Throughout the last 6 weeks, I’ve found myself thinking so much about the power of positivity in daily life. With our recent move and all the changes that have occurred, maintaining a positive attitude has been huge for me when dealing with stress and anxiety. I tend to be a positive person overall, but this definitely doesn’t mean I don’t have my moments of doubt. Those of you who have also dealt with stress and anxiety know that anxiety can be triggered during times where things feel like they are changing very quickly. This is just so true! I felt inspired to write today’s post about the power of a positive mindset because it’s been something I’ve had to really rely on recently. It’s helpful, it’s something we can be conscious of, and is something we can work towards everyday.
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of “positivity” is the fact that striving towards having a positive mindset in no way means that we need to constantly be in a good mood or never think a negative thought! We are humans after all. To me, it really means making a conscious effort on a daily basis to be present with our thoughts and to guide then back on track when they start to spin out. It even boils down to how I choose to begin my day. I seriously notice SUCH a huge difference when I take that 10-15 minutes (or longer) in the morning to set my intentions for the day rather than launching right into my emails and to-do list. Even though the easiest thing to do is to launch right into the day, I know it always serves me so well to start my day slowly and with intention.
I also want to point out that “starting the day with intention” can mean different things for different people. Again, we’re all different so do what feels best to you! Like I’ve mentioned before, for me it can be starting the day with prayer and meditation or going over the list of manifestations/ goals I’m working towards.
I think that maintaining a positive mindset and striving to do so will be something I’ll work towards and have as a goal my entire life. It’s almost like everyday we have two choices– to take the day as it comes and to CHOOSE to see the positives in the day OR give into the negativity that is sometimes all around us. My faith is hugely important here because it’s the main way that I am able to realize that my circumstances aren’t always my job to be constantly concerned about. Rather, it’s God’s job and I know that He is faithful and always constant in my life. It’s so important to remember that it isn’t OUR duty to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders and that there is a power so much greater than ourselves, always working for good. Honestly, it can be so challenging to remember this when it feels like things are a mess or when they aren’t falling into place the way we want them to. Another thing that helps is thinking back to those times in my life where it has felt like things aren’t falling into place. Taking a step back and seeing the way God has ultimately used that situation to either teach me something about myself, make me stronger, or open up a new path that I wouldn’t have even known existed is what gives me comfort.
What are some of the ways that you stay positive? Do you think that positivity is a choice and something we need to constantly be working on?
Thanks for stopping by & sending all the positivity your way!

Hey Tay! Love inside and out is such a clever title! Positivity and spreading love is definitely super high on my priority list! Setting intentions each and every day is such a profound statement. It makes way more of a difference than most people think. I also like to have a positivity jar on my desk to write little notes to myself about things I love around me. I’m starting a blog, Lo at Large and would love all of the support I could get from inspirations like you!
