Last weekend we visited Big Sur for the first time and it was AMAZING! I wanted to quickly share some of the photos we took with you. We also visited Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve which is really close to Healdsburg. I can’t recommend these stops enough if you’re in for a little Northern California adventuring!
I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas Holiday. These past few days in-between Christmas and New Years have been wonderful and also confusing because who really knows what day or time it is, you know!?
We are down in OC celebrating the end of 2018 with some good friends for a few days before heading back up to NorCal for New Years!
As 2018 comes to a close, I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting on how truly grateful I am to have such an amazing community of readers. I feel like I have all these best friends out in the world that I’ve never met but get to connect with on a daily basis via this blog and social media. You are truly such an incredible and supportive community!
It’s been a minute since I’ve written a blog post and it’s about time I updated you in a long form way. 🙂 While I’ve been all over social media, it’s been a few weeks (maybe a month??) since I’ve put up a new blog post. Let me start by saying there have been A LOT of changes happening around these parts. It’s almost comical because in the last month we have experienced so MUCH positive change that I don’t even know where to begin… I am feeling VERY grateful.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m in a “women’s wellness” group that meets every other week. In our little group, we talk about our passions, focusing on the good, mindset, self-talk, self-love, and much more! Consistently meeting with women who really “set my soul on fire” has been such a gift. There are 4 of us in total and we are all different ages and in different seasons of life. They have become like mirrors for me and I absolutely love getting to learn and grow with them. We talk so much about the law of attraction and the notion of what you focus on expands. We call ourselves the “soul tribe” and like clockwork, every second Tuesday evening I find myself so uplifted by their beautiful spirits and souls.
Today’s post is all about what’s in my bag when I’m traveling or on-the-go. When traveling, I have a handful of items that I always need to have with me. Keeping these items in my tote, carry-on, or beach bag keep me feeling healthy and balanced! I think it’s really important to prioritize health (and whatever makes you feel good) when traveling. I prefer to feel balanced and bring pieces of my home on trips with me.
What’s one thing you can do on a daily basis that will pack some extra nutrition & goodness into your diet? Add in a green smoothie! Honestly, adding in a daily green smoothie is one of the easiest ways to ensure you’re benefitting your nutritional needs without spending so much time. Starting the day with a big green smoothie not only packs a nutritional punch, but also makes me feel like I’m starting the day right! I’ve mentioned before that I usually find it necessary to have a smoothie on the side of my breakfast because most days I’m pretty darn hungry in the morning, especially after a workout. SO, don’t feel like you can only have a smoothie if your body is telling you it also wants solid food! I always try to point this out because those hunger cues are super important to listen to. Anyway, today I’m giving my go-to green smoothie recipe! While some ingredients in this smoothie have changed throughout the years, the base has pretty much stayed the same. What can I say, when I find something that works I become a creature of habit!
My Look: Yellow Dress, Bag (Similar), Sandals
Stepping out of my comfort zone is something I find very important. From planning a trip somewhere new, to styling an outfit that’s a little different than usual, my goal is to never become stagnant. If there’s anything I’ve learned the last few years, it’s that life it too darn short not to be BOLD. You know??
This weekend we headed down to Orange County to see friends and family. Although I LOVE living back in Northern California, I also love Southern California. It is seriously such a fun place to visit because there is so much to do. Orange County has endless healthy restaurants and is basically a playground for someone who loves wellness (me & I know lots of you guys)!! You can go for a beach run and then grab breakfast over at True Foods Kitchen (one of my favorite restaurants) followed by a freeze from Pressed Juicery, and then head over to YogaWorks for a lunchtime flow class.
I made a serious effort not to be working on my phone the whole weekend & to really be present with friends and family so I thought it would be fun to put together this post showing some of my favorite spots! I also will include links to all the outfits I wore during our long weekend getaway. The weather was STUNNING, so it really felt like summer!
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend!!
This weekend was a super relaxing one, which is always nice & needed after a long week. On Saturday, Dylan & I headed out sailing with my family on the San Francisco Bay and had such a lovely time!! Sailing is something that my family has done since I was super little (you would think I would be better at it by now, lol) and this was the first time we’ve gone in a while! The rest of the weekend we hung out with Murphy, grocery shopped, hit the gym, went to church, the usual stuff. Whatever you did this weekend, I hope it was a good one!
