My Looks: dress, skirt, pj’s, shoes, sunnies,
Hi Friends!
HAPPY TUESDAY! I feel like this TUESDAY is an especially happy one because MY EBOOK went live yesterday! GAH! I apologize in advance for all the caps… but really can’t help it because the ebook has been something we’ve been working hard on for the last 4 months or so and I was so excited to launch it today! I’m going to do a full blog post soon on some of my favorite recipes from the ebook and what to expect if you’re interested in purchasing.
However, today’s post is a little more travel themed. Fun! If you follow along over on Instagram, you might have seen that last weekend we packed up for a local staycation at Farmhouse Inn.ย
Since moving to Sonoma County in January, time has been moving ever so quickly. From our extended housing search to packing and unpacking and EVERYTHING in-between, things have been hectic! For this reason, it was so incredibly wonderful to pack up and head over to Farmhouseย Inn for a weekend of R&R. If you aren’t local or haven’t heard of Farmhouse, it’s a stunning and quaint inn located in Forestville, CA. This is only about thirty minutes from us, so it is basically the perfect travel distance to feel like “we’re getting away” without having to go too far.
Prior to arriving, my hopes were set very high because I had heard such wonderful things about the beauty of the grounds, staff, food, room, spa, etc. However, my expectations were completely exceeded. From the moment we set foot on the property, we were treated like family. We were greeted with warm smiles and glasses of Chardonnay (is there really a better combo) and were shown to our room which you can see above!
The decor at Farmhouse was the perfect combination of luxury meets comfort. The room was complete with heated marble floors, a steam room in shower, a cozy fireplace, & the most beautiful luxury bedding. Sometimes when staying in hotels or inns, something about the decor makes me feel like I’m unable to relax due to the way things don’t quite feel like “home.” This was the exact opposite of that! It was so refreshing and comforting while being incredibly decadent.
The two highlights of our staycation at Farmhouse were the tub-turndown service & visit to the spa. BOTH were so luxurious and had us feeling beyond pampered. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever been so relaxed or felt so spoiled!!! The tub-turndown service is where staff members come and prep the bathtub with candles, bubbles, rose petals, cookies/ milk, & of course a little champagne! Friends and family closest to me know that bath taking is something that I consider A NECESSITY. It’s one of my favorite ways to relax & unwind! Honestly, seeing the way the tub-turndown was prepped, I don’t know if my usual baths will ever measure up! Ha! In all seriousness, the whole experience left me feeling so grateful.
Now for the spa experience. We decided to make our spa appointment later in the evening on Sunday to be able to fully enjoy the daytime at Farmhouse. There’s also nothing better than getting a massage and then jumping into bed right after. (: We arrived at the spa just as the sun was going down and were again greeted with only the utmost of hospitality.
The spa at Farmhouse is a “farm to spa” experience where you get to collaborate with the spa alchemist to “customize a spa treatment of your dreams.” This is exactly what we did! I started out with a “Spring Seasonal Scrub” made fully from local citrus & herbs. To make the experience even more dreamy, I even got to mix the scrub together myself as the apothecarist described to me exactly what each ingredient was doing for my skin. The whole experience was very much inline with my passion for non-toxic body care and left my skin feeling SO soft/plump. ย The scrubs change every season and I can’t wait to go back and try the next one! This one included sugar, colloidal oatmeal, vitamin c, fresh squeezed lemon, orange, & a combination of herbs! The coolest part was that you can also EAT the scrub. It was quite yummy as I’m sure you can imagine! I followed up my seasonal scrub with a Warming Ginger Honey Massage. Ginger and honey are wonderful for boosting the immune system and helped to relax my sore shoulder muscles.
Overall, our weekend getaway to Farmhouse was beyond wonderful. I would highly recommend it if you are visiting wine country and are looking for a luxury experience! I also received a message from a reader asking if I think Farmhouse Inn might be a good place to stay on a honeymoon. My answer: YES! I really can’t think of a more romantic location within wine country. We can’t wait to go back, hopefully this summer!
In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s always such a blessing to be able to getaway with a loved one. Do you have a favorite staycation location that helps you to relax and unwind??
I would love to hear about it!!
