Hi Beauties!
I can’t believe it is February 5th today! 2020 has been off to such a quick start. I still feel like Christmas was just yesterday! Does anyone else feel that way?
My hope is that today’s blog post will help us all spend a little time being mindful and intentional as we enter into the second month of this new DECADE! I felt such a profound shift at the beginning of this year. It has been such a wonderful time to let go of things that no longer serve. Think old habits, mindset patterns, anxieties, fear, etc.
At the end of December, right before 2020 begun- I selected my words for the year. In previous years, I’ve always done resolutions and that just doesn’t seem to feel authentic to me anymore! This year, I’ve picked words that I want to represent my year and really my life going forward- to guide me along the way. I am vowing to hold them close to my heart and to remind myself of them as I go throughout my days.
My words for the year are: VIBRANCY, UNDERSTANDING, SELF- ACCEPTANCE, COMPASSION (FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS), MINDFUL, AND ABUNDANT.
I truly love all of these words and hope to reflect on them just a little bit each day. This isn’t to say that I will always feel vibrant but hope to remind myself that the core of who I am is always vibrant, no matter what is happening around me, in my life, or in my body.
The way that I selected these words to be MY words for the year: after spending time journaling and meditating, they came to me very clearly! If you aren’t a meditator, no worries. Put on some yoga music or music that feeds your soul. It can be anything that YOU love! My favorite lately has been music by Karen Drucker. She is on Spotify so easy to find! I also love to light some sage, get out my favorite rose quartz, and light a candle.
Release the need to find the “perfect” words and know that the right ones will come to you. The words can be anything you want to bring into this new year and decade. For me, I vibrancy is the biggest one! In 2019 with my health – I did not really feel vibrant a lot of the time so it is so important to me to create that feeling even if I don’t always have it to start with. I hope that makes sense! I have been spending lots of time lately recognizing the truth that what we focus on expands. So, if we identify these special words and hold them close to our hearts it can be very powerful.
No matter what you are going through in life, remember that our circumstances and challenges aren’t what define us! It is really the way we react and respond to them.
Ever since I had the flu around the holiday’s, my health has been a bit of a challenge. Getting a really bad virus sort of “stirred up” the Lyme co-infections for me and has been really frustrating. I don’t talk about it much on Instagram because I don’t really want to focus on it much. It has been hard but at the same time, I know it will pass again like it has before! It is all a lesson.
I would absolutely LOVE TO HEAR your words for the year. I am so thankful to connect with all of you everyday & for this platform of likeminded women!
