Hi loves!
I wanted to thank you again for all the kind words and thoughts with the launch of my blog! It has been SUCH a relief to finally put myself out there and have this site out in the open. I am feeling incredibly inspired right now and am so thankful to EVERYONE who took the time to read my first few posts and visit my site. From the bottom of my heart, it means the world to me!! If you like what you see, you can subscribe to stay up to date with my recent posts. : )
Today, I wanted to share some photos we took up in Malibu last weekend and also tell you the funny story of our major campaign FAIL that took place on Friday night. All last week, Dylan was beyond excited for this camping trip up to Malibu he had planned. He was so sweet preparing all week for the trip and probably spent 5 hours packing the car! We were really looking forward to exploring Malibu because I hadn’t spent much time there before and he was excited to show me around.
The trip started off well! We planned to shoot in Malibu but didn’t know where and then happened to stumble on the Adamson House which was beyond beautiful!! Fellow bloggers who are looking for a beautiful location to shoot, check this place out! I low key wanted to move in or camp on the lawn, ha (probably would have been a better choice???). Anyways, the location for the shoot in this White Socialite Maxi (that I am beyond obsessed with) was lovely and the day was off to a strong start!
We spent a few hours checking out Malibu and shooting at the Adamson House and then visited Malibu Farms for dinner and drinks. I am not usually a cocktail drinker…. BUT their Watermelon cocktail was life changing, seriously! I ordered two it was that good. The entire patio overlooking the water is like a real-life Instagram account and I instantly understood why everyone is so obsessed w/ it.
After dinner, we headed out to the campsites in Malibu Creek. Let me preface this story by letting you know that I am NOT much of a camper. I used to love to camp when I was younger but ever since my Dad has been diagnosed with Lymes Disease, I can do without it. I’m paranoid of ticks and also really enjoy my bed at home. So anyways, we get to the campsite and I’m trying to contain my nervousness for ticks and the fact that they’ve been found positive for Lymes in Malibu Canyon. I manage to forget about my fear and start to relax and have a good time. Note: this maxi dress is long gone by now and I’m wearing zero makeup and pj’s, see photo at the end of this post, haha. We cook some hotdogs on the fire and notice that it’s starting to “sprinkle….” We look at each other and think “hmmmm, this isn’t great” but decide to go to sleep because we’re exhausted.
Next thing I know it’s midnight and we’re awake literally LAYING in water. The sides of the tent are leaking and it’s POURING outside. You might be thinking, why didn’t they prepare for this kind of weather! Well…. the weather report had shown zero chance of rain Friday so I guess Dylan figured we were all good??? He’s been camping in Malibu before and apparently has never had this issue, lol. Also the tent my family gave us for Christmas is a summer tent because we live in a place that pretty much has summer weather all year long! So, there we are in the middle of the night sleeping in a pile of water and decide we would rather wake up in our comfortable bed at home rather than damp in our leaky tent.
We pack up, cut our losses, and decide to drive the 2 hours back home and ended up getting home at 4 am. LOL. We were deliriously laughing through the whole thing and will probably laugh at the experience for months to come.
I’m telling you guys this story 1. because I think it’s hilarious and 2. because I want to point out that things are definitely not always as “filtered” as they appear on social media! I love sharing beautiful photos but also always always always want to remind you that life is NOT perfect just because a photo has a pretty aesthetic. : )
I hope you got a good laugh out of our camping story and that you are having a wonderful week! Would love to hear your stories on vacations gone wrong! 😉
Can’t wait to chat more soon & LMK if you like this white maxi as much as I do! P.s. It’s under $60!

This watermelon cocktail really was AS GOOD as it looks on Instagram! We loved Malibu Farms and will definitely be back.
