Hi Babes!
I’m sitting here in my Grandpa’s cottage in Brooklin, Maine AKA the only place I’ve been able to successfully connect to wifi these last few days. I literally just spent 45 minutes attempting to find the correct login and password and FINALLY got it to work. Just as I was getting super frustrated and ready to throw my computer, the wifi decides to connect, HA. Isn’t that anyways the case!?!?
Anyway, we arrived in Brooklin on Sunday and have had the most relaxing time. Brooklin, Maine is one of the most peaceful places you can visit, in my opinion. The pace of life is so slow, which I’m sure you’ve seen if you follow me over on Instagram!
We visit Maine every summer and have since I was a little kid. My family rents a tiny (about 800 sq feet) cottage on the water, next-door to my Grandfather’s cottage. We go sailing, hiking, swimming in the lakes nearby, and sit around the fire. We go to bed early and sleep in late. It truly feels like summertime here!
Before arriving in Brooklin, my family and I were in Damariscotta, Maine visiting the town where my Grandmother used to live. She passed away last year, so we were actually in town to put on a memorial service for her friends. She was the most beautiful, feminine, vivacious, and all around most stunning woman I’ve ever known. Our days in Damariscotta were spent celebrating her life, and all the summers we spent with her on Lake Damariscotta growing up. Usually, we’ll spend a week in Damariscotta Maine, followed by a week in Brooklin, Maine. Visiting the two places gives us a chance to swim on Lake Damariscotta and sail on the bay in Brooklin, along with seeing different sides of our family. It’s truly a blessing to get to spend this time with my family! Both of these places share such a special place in my heart. It’s pretty cool to think one day I’ll be bringing my own children here!
I always notice that in Maine, things become a bit clearer. The air is fresher, the ocean is colder, and days move slower.

As far as my look in these photos, I am OBSESSED with this striped top from Forever 21. It’s under $15 and great for summer. I have also been wearing these asos shorts literally everyday. If you need a great pair of jean shorts, they fit so well and are really comfortable. I was actually so surprised at how perfectly they fit, because I find it hard to find jean shorts that fit well. I am wearing a UK size 8, for reference!
Finally, the slides!! They are so COMFORTABLE! This is my first pair of slides, and I’m VERY into them. I love that they actually stay on my feet and are also super neutral. I know I’ll be wearing them all the time & love the gold accent on the heel.
