My Look: Dress, Sandals, Bag, Sunnies
Hi Beautiful Souls,
Today I’m hoping we can chat about how to balance and handle big life changes when dealing with the highlight reel of social media. I published an Instagram Post last week talking about how my twenties have been what seems like an endless cycle of change. Between moving cities six times in five years, changing careers, & figuring out this whole “adulting” thing, it can be a lot! I also know that this is a very common way to feel in your twenties. After hitting “publish” on this post, I was so comforted by the fact that so many of you said you feel the same way. I also loved hearing from some older friends on Instagram who shared what it’s like to come out of a season of change and to get older/ wiser (ha thank goodness, right).
One thing I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is how challenging it can be to balance big life changes with the highlight reel of social media. On one hand, I love keeping social media a place of positivity! I strongly believe in the notion that “where attention goes energy flows” and try to live by this practice. For this reason and others, I don’t always share the challenges on social media or even on this blog until I’ve experienced them long enough to share a big takeaway. You can find some of my experience takeaways here, here, & here. Really today, I just wanted to address the fact that there is always more going on behind the scenes of social media. Not just for me, but for everyone! I think it can be so easy to fall into the comparison game and think that you are the only one who doesn’t have life all figured out but that just isn’t the case. I’m here to tell you that at least once per week I have a mini freakout session and wonder if I’m on the right path and on and on, etc. This isn’t because I’m unhappy in my career or life. It’s completely normal to feel this way and to question things as we get older! I think it’s called being 25 years old, lol. The reason I bring this up is because I would never want anyone to feel alone or like they’re the only one who doesn’t have it “all together.”
The reason and purpose behind this blog for me is to spread love from the inside out. This is something I am so passionate about and while I love sharing wellness, beauty, and fashion finds– spreading love from the inside out is my ultimate goal. To me, spreading love means keeping my content as authentic as possible and making sure that I pepper in these real life posts. I also want to say that if you EVER feel like you want to chat, feel free to send me an email: taylor@loveinsideandout.com. I adore connecting with this community and have had the pleasure of chatting with many of you! It’s the reason I love blogging so much.
I hope that you know just how loved you are! As always, thank you for stopping by.
