Hi Babes!!
It’s been a minute since I’ve written a blog post and it’s about time I updated you in a long form way. π While I’ve been all over social media, it’s been a few weeks (maybe a month??) since I’ve put up a new blog post. Let me start by saying there have been A LOT of changes happening around these parts. It’s almost comical because in the last month we have experienced so MUCH positive change that I don’t even know where to begin… I am feeling VERY grateful.
Before I tell you what’s actually been “up,” I want to say that the past three years have been what seems like the longest season of patience. It’s been a time of transition and really of waiting to see the fruits of our “labor” come together in many different ways. It’s been a time of putting our heads down and working towards a goal day in and day out. From blogging, to building careers in our early twenties, to entering our “mid” twenties and moving back to Northern California, it has been a lot of change! There have been big challenges as well as a lot of growth.
I am happy to announce that in this last month, things for Dylan and I have come together in a BIG WAY! For a while, we felt very “un-settled” and all we wanted to do was “settle down” and start to build “roots,” Β in every sense of the term.
I’m excited to share these changes with you guys because I truly feel like you are my online family and I want to be fully transparent about what’s going on. π
I recently started a new job as a consultant for a health company that opened up in Geyserville, CA where we will be putting on health and wellness events. This job has been incredible so far as it’s focused on ALL of my passions! I am also doing some digital marketing for the company as well as handling the event planning. For the last year and a half before taking this job, I was focusing mainly on building up my blog and creating a business out of it but felt like it was time to add a new project to my plate. I was hoping for a new opportunity to learn within the health industry and really to further my knowledge of wellness and this is EXACTLY THAT. It’s crazy the way God provides when you keep faith over time periods of waiting and being patient (really the last few years). Another wonderful part of this new job is that I am a consultant for the company, so I’m still able to run this blog and keep up with my social media work full-time. It’s a new balance for me but I am truly loving it! If you are local in Sonoma County and are interested in attending one of our upcoming health events, visit the Facebook page here to see the details!
The second biggest change that we’ve had recently is that WE’RE MOVING!!! Into a HOME! If you’ve followed my Instagram for a while now, you might have seen us move around a bit over the last years. We are really excited to announce that we are moving into a home in Healdsburg, our favorite town in Sonoma County. While we have loved the last 8 months in our cottage, we always knew that it wouldn’t be permanent. It’s cute but pretty darn tiny and we are definitely ready to have a bit more space. I actually grew up in Healdsburg and it is the town that feels most like home. We feel very blessed to have found a place so close to family, friends, and my new job!
The third biggest piece of news I have to share is…. WE’RE ENGAGED!!Β I have to say this is my favorite piece of news, haha. I am going to do a full blog post soon on how Dylan asked because it was quite the day and I had NO IDEA. It included all of my closest girlfriends flying in from out of town and be being incredibly surprised. You can see some of the photos below and if you want a good laugh, look at my facial expression.
Something about this new season of engagement and planning for marriage just feels SO right. It’s funny because I actually never knew if I would be a “marriage” kind of person until I met Dylan and things seemed to click very naturally. We have been together for just over 3 years now and it truly feels like the perfect time to take this next step. We have wanted to get engaged/ married since we started dating 3 years ago but wanted to be more “settled” in our careers/ lives before doing so. At times waiting was extremely difficult but in hindsight I am so glad we waited until the timing was right for our lives. To be totally real with you guys, I was to the point where I wanted to get engaged so badly that I had to stop looking at people on Instagram/ social media getting engaged because I would get so jealous!! I had to remind myself that it would happen in the timing that’s right for us and I’m so happy it did. ALSO, if you’re wanting to get engaged and might feel that same way reading this– I feel you. For this reason, I wanted to give the context. π Life isn’t always perfect and but can be pretty amazing at times.
Between moving, new jobs, and engagement– there has been a lot going on but I am so happy to share it with all of you! I’ve also been incredibly thankful for all of you that have been SO KIND on social media regarding our engagement. Honestly some of the messages saying that we make people believe in love again (wow) make me cry. We are far from perfect (seriously) but are just so excited for this new chapter together! It’s also been a lot of fun seeing messages about wedding planning tips and where to start with wedding planning. I can use ALL the tips I can get at this point, ha!!!
Anyway, thank you for stopping by my site and for your kindness!! It means the world to me!
Engagement story coming soon. π Also, if there are any other engagement details you want to know, just ask below!!
