If you watch my Instagram story, you’ve seen me talk and post about Fish Oil quite often. It is one of the staple vitamins I’ve taken over the last few years and one I REALLY believe in. I also believe it can help most people. Over the last two years of taking it consistently, I’ve noticed increased energy, skin and nail health (it makes my nails grow SO fast), reduced anxiety, and more.
I’m hesitant to talk about the full round up of vitamins I take because I see a doctor who tests all of my vitamin levels and prescribes vitamins to fill the areas that I’m lacking in. If you feel like your body is “off” in many ways, I highly highly encourage you to find a good wholistic doctor. Mine has seriously changed my life, but more on that later. Some of the other supplements I swear by are Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and Zinc. But before I get way ahead of myself, let me tell you about some of the amazing benefits of good ol’ Omega 3’s.
- Helps reduce inflammation (one of the reasons you will notice healthier hair and stronger nails).
- Supports immune function.
- Can help anxiety and depression. Our brains are made up of about 60% fat and lots of this fat is omega-3 fatty acids. For this reason, omega-3’s aid and support brain function.
- Supports a healthy weight.
- Can help improve asthma and allergies.
These are some of my favorite benefits from fish oil. I’ve really noticed the stronger nails and hair, immune function, and anxiety benefits. On another note, there have been many times throughout the course of the last two years with my wholistic doctor, that she’s upped my fish oil intake to help combat certain symptoms- like anxiety.
