Let’s get right down to it and chat about all things hair. I’ve seen some questions on haircare lately and figured it was time to update you on some of my current favorite hair products for giving hair the R&R it needs. I’ve been using some of these products for years now and am obsessed with them all! To make things better, all of the products I’m talking about today are nontoxic and cruelty free. For those of you who struggle with skin related issues, I challenge you to look into your hair products. Hair products filled with chemicals can often be the hidden culprit behind those annoying breakouts (and other skin issues) that most of us have experienced.
1. Beautycounter Daily Shampoo
This is my current favorite gentle shampoo! I use this on my hair once or twice per week and it always leaves it feeling light, moisturized, & clean. I don’t wash my hair very often to preserve the color and keep it healthy and this always gets the job done when I do.
2. Beautycounter Daily Conditioner
This is the sister of the shampoo listed above. It’s my current favorite conditioner. It also leaves the high moisturized without weighing it down. One thing that I’ve noticed since switching over to more nontoxic haircare products is that my hair feels much lighter and softer! Less chemicals are weighing it down.
3. Primally Pure Dry Shampoo
This is honestly my holy grail hair product. I’ve used it for years & you might have seen me talk about it here & here! It blends seamlessly into hair without giving that white and powdery look that just isn’t cute. It also gets rid of any smell that’s in the hair and leaves a nice, very natural, scent. It’s the reason I’m able to only wash my hair once or twice per week! It works so well and you will be hooked.
4. Beautycounter Repair & Nourish Split End Serum
I adore this serum! I use it after washing with the above shampoo and conditioner after drying hair off. It also kind of acts as a leave in conditioner and makes brushing through the hair (with a wet brush) much easier. It works at binding those ends together to prevent breakage!
5. Innersense Hydrating Hair Masque
This is the best nontoxic hair mask I’ve been able to find. When I became a Beautycounter consultant and got rid of lots of my toxic products, I did tons of research trying to find a good nontoxic conditioning treatment! This is the one I came across. I like to leave it in while I’m in the bath and let it restore my hair.
Some of my other favorite hair products of the moment that deserve honorable mentions are Aveda’s Color Conserve and Andalou Natural’s Hair Spray! I also still use a purple shampoo every once in a while to keep my color from getting brassy but haven’t been able to find a nontoxic one. Let me know if you have one to recommend!
What are your favorite hair products of the moment? Always looking to try new ones!!
